The UN Environment Management Group (EMG): https://unemg.org/, will be holding a series of dialogues this year to bring UN agencies and other stakeholders closer together in identifying further synergies at the intersection of the different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to support the implementation of the environmental dimension of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda in a more collaborative manner.

The Nexus Dialogue 1 will launch the series and take place in Geneva, April 26-27, 2017, and will involve a discussion among UN officials, member states, the private sector and civil society, to share perspectives on implementation of the SDGs.  In particular discussions will focus on the environmental dimensions, challenges and opportunities of the integrated implementation of the SDGs and the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships to strengthen policy coherence and integrated policy development, using the nexus approach. Please follow the link to the Nexus Dialogue 1 web page for more details: https://unemg.org/emg-nexus-dialogues/dialogue-1.

The UN EMG are currently looking for case studies in developed country contexts of nexus approaches towards environmental issues. These case studies may be examples of government policies, private sector work, or public and private combined; for example, in the area of water, energy, migration, transport and food etc, and should ideally involve an environmental issue as an entry point. The case studies will be presented during part of the Technical Segment on the first day.

If you have a case study you would like to suggest, and are interested in attending this high level event (with costs covered), please contact Mr Garam Bel directly Garam.BEL@unep.org.
